The Partagas Serie P No.2 is a celebrated Cuban torpedo, renowned for its bold character, rich complexity, and iconic red and gold band. Measuring 6 1/8 inches (156 mm) with a 52 ring gauge, this Pirámide format is meticulously hand-rolled in Cuba using long-filler tobaccos from the prestigious Vuelta Abajo region. The Partagás brand was established by Don Jaime Partagás y Ravelo, a Spanish immigrant who became a pioneer in the Cuban cigar industry. He was among the first to experiment with fermentation and aging techniques, and he introduced the tradition of employing a “reader” to entertain and educate factory workers - a practice that continues in Havana today. Don Jaime acquired prime plantations in the Vuelta Abajo region, renowned for producing the world’s finest tobacco. This commitment to quality raw materials set Partagás apart from its inception. Don Jaime Partagás was a visionary but met a tragic end - he was murdered on one of his plantations in 1868. The brand passed through several hands, including the Cifuentes family, who expanded its reach and influence. 

PARTAGAS SERIE P NO.2 TASTING NOTES

- Initial Third: Opens with bold notes of pepper, earth, and leather, underscored by cedar and a gentle floral aroma. Subtle hints of cocoa, nougat, and sweet spice add intrigue, while the smoke is thick, velvety, and immediately full-bodied. 

- Middle Third: Pepper mellows as flavours of toasted nuts, oak, and creamy coffee emerge. Cedar and spice remain prominent, with undertones of vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit. A touch of citrus and honey may appear, balancing the earthy core. 

- Final Third: The cigar intensifies with deeper notes of wood, black tea, walnut, and mocha. Leather, earth, and a resurgence of pepper and spice linger, with a long, satisfying finish. Occasional hints of maple syrup, coconut, and nutmeg provide complexity and a memorable aftertaste. 

- Aroma: Expect a bouquet of cedar, earth, leather, and sweet spice, complemented by cocoa and floral notes. The smoke is dense and creamy, with a satisfying, full-bodied presence.
