Genuine Cigars, Sourced the Right Way

At Fine Cigars Club, every cigar we sell is sourced through official channels — genuine, correctly stored, and exactly what it says on the band. Here's how, and why it matters.

English Market Selection (EMS)

English Market Selection mark — genuine EMS Cuban cigars

Our Cuban cigars are genuine English Market Selection (EMS) stock, sourced through Hunters & Frankau — the sole official distributor of Cuban cigars in the United Kingdom. The EMS mark, which appears on the box, is your assurance that the cigars were selected for the UK market, imported through the authorised channel, and handled correctly at every stage from Havana to your humidor. It is the single most reliable sign that a Cuban cigar sold in the UK is genuine.

How to Spot a Genuine Cuban Cigar

How can I tell if a Cuban cigar is genuine?
Buy from an authorised source. Genuine Cuban cigars reach the UK through Hunters & Frankau and carry the EMS mark. If a seller cannot tell you their source, be cautious.

What markings should a genuine Cuban cigar box carry?
Check the box markings. Genuine boxes carry the Cuban government warranty seal, "Habanos s.a." and "Hecho en Cuba / Totalmente a mano" stamps, a factory code and date stamp.

How does construction reveal a counterfeit cigar?
Inspect construction. Genuine Havanas are impeccably rolled with a smooth draw and even burn. Spongy feel, uneven construction or a crude band are warning signs.

Are cheap Cuban cigars a warning sign?
Be wary of prices that seem too good. Genuine Cuban cigars have a floor price; deep discounts are the commonest sign of a counterfeit.
