A soft box-pressed Robusto measuring 5" × 50, it is built around tobacco from Ometepe, a fresh-water island in Lake Nicaragua formed by two volcanoes (Concepción and Maderas) whose mineral-rich soil produces some of the most distinctive tobacco on earth. Ometepe leaf makes up roughly three-quarters of the blend — used in a double binder and the filler, and aged for a full seven years — beneath a sweet, oily Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper from the Jalapa Valley. The result is a powerful yet refined cigar of earth, coffee and cacao layered with sweet spice and a charred-oak finish.
