Overview And Tasting Notes

The Oliva Serie G Robusto is a smooth, medium-bodied Nicaraguan cigar and one of the best-value premium smokes in the Oliva range. A Robusto crafted at the family’s Tabacalera Oliva in Estelí, it is defined by its African Cameroon wrapper over aged Nicaraguan binder and filler — a combination that gives a gentle sweetness, a creamy texture and a subtle, refined spice. Approachable yet genuinely characterful, the Serie G is the ideal introduction to the Oliva family’s Cuban-heritage tobacco: mellow enough for any time of day, but with the balance and construction that have made the brand a modern great.

About Oliva

Oliva is one of Nicaragua’s most celebrated cigar families, with a heritage stretching back to 1886, when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Pinar del Río, Cuba. Three generations and two revolutions later, his descendants settled in Nicaragua, where the family became one of the country’s largest growers of Cuban-seed tobacco. From their Tabacalera Oliva in Estelí, they craft a portfolio that has appeared on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 list many times over — using the same time-tested curing, blending and rolling methods that built the family’s reputation for full-flavoured, impeccably made cigars.

- Final Third: Deepens with wood, roasted nuts and a touch more spice, finishing clean and smooth with a lingering natural sweetness.

Fun Facts About the Oliva Serie G Robusto

The Serie G is wrapped in African Cameroon leaf — a rare, delicate and hard-to-grow wrapper prized for its natural sweetness — which sets it apart from the Habano-wrapped cigars elsewhere in the Oliva range.

The Oliva family’s tobacco heritage dates to 1886, when Melanio Oliva grew his first crop in Cuba’s Pinar del Río — the same family history that gives the flagship Serie V Melanio its name.

The Serie G is widely regarded as one of the best-value premium cigars on the market — a genuine Cameroon-wrapped smoke from a Cigar of the Year-winning house at an everyday price.

FAQ About the Oliva Serie G Robusto

Is the Serie G good for beginners?
Yes — it’s smooth, medium-bodied and gently sweet thanks to its Cameroon wrapper, making it one of the most approachable Olivas, while still offering the quality experienced smokers expect.

How does it compare to the Serie O and Serie V?
The Serie G is the mildest and creamiest; the Serie O is a medium-bodied Habano puro; the Serie V is the full-bodied flagship. The G is the gentle entry point to the range.

What is a Cameroon wrapper?
A delicate, sweet African wrapper leaf that’s difficult to grow and highly prized — it gives the Serie G its signature smooth, subtly sweet character.
