Trinidad Media Luna

Launched in 2019 to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, the Trinidad Media Luna is a standout addition to the regular lineup. The name “Media Luna” translates to “Half Moon” and also refers to a small Cuban town. This Petit Robusto, or “Marinas” vitola, measures 115 mm (4 1/2 inches) in length with a 50 ring gauge and features the brand’s signature pigtail cap. The Media Luna is presented in semi boite nature boxes of 12 cigars, emphasizing its elegance and collectibility. This is a unique size within the Habanos portfolio. The Trinidad brand traces its roots to 1969, when it was first produced at the famed El Laguito factory in Havana, using similar leaves to Cohiba but without the extra fermentation. Initially, Trinidad cigars were reserved exclusively for diplomatic gifts and were not available to the public. For decades, Trinidad cigars were shrouded in secrecy, known as a “best kept secret” of Cuba and only distributed to foreign dignitaries. Production was extremely limited, with only a few boxes made each month. Trinidad was officially launched for public sale in 1998, quickly gaining a reputation for its refined, aromatic, and creamy profile. The brand is named after the city of La Santísima Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Cuba, reflecting its heritage and prestige. Today, Trinidad is considered one of Habanos S.A.’s “Alto” (top-tier) brands, alongside Cohiba and Montecristo, and is renowned for its exclusivity, limited production, and elegant presentation.
