Overview And Tasting Notes

The H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 2 is one of the most distinctive additions to the brand's portfolio — introduced in 2020, it features the Bohemios vitola measuring 134mm with a 51 ring gauge, making it the first Havana cigar to use this ring gauge. It carries a Cigar Aficionado score of 92. Light to medium-bodied with a refined, evolving profile, the Connoisseur No. 2 joins the Connoisseur A and B in H. Upmann's specialist range for aficionados — delivering caramel, toasted almonds and roasted coffee across approximately 50 minutes.

About H. Upmann Cigars

Founded in Havana in 1844 by German banker Hermann Dietrich Upmann, H. Upmann is one of Cuba's oldest and most distinguished cigar houses. Upmann arrived in Cuba to expand his family's banking interests but became captivated by the tobacco industry, purchasing a factory and producing cigars under his own name. The brand is credited with introducing the cedar cigar box — a practice that became the global standard — and with creating some of the most refined blends in the Habanos portfolio. Today H. Upmann is revered for elegance and consistency across formats from the compact Half Corona to the stately Sir Winston.

Tasting Notes of H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 2

The Connoisseur No. 2 delivers a refined, balanced and evolving smoking experience across its 50-minute smoke time.

- Pre-light: Aromas of cedar, sweet tobacco and earthiness, with hints of cocoa and hay.

- First Third: Creamy and sweet, with prominent notes of caramel and toasted almonds. Subtle floral qualities and gentle spice blend with a woody core. The draw is smooth and lush.

- Second Third: Flavours deepen to reveal roasted coffee, leather, cocoa and a balanced nutty undertone. Oatmeal, cedar and cinnamon emerge, with caramel sweetness and white pepper on the retrohale.

- Final Third: The body intensifies slightly, introducing bold wood, black pepper, dark chocolate and a touch of tart apple skin. The finish is long, smooth and satisfying, with creamy almonds and lingering sweetness.

- Overall: Light to medium-bodied, nuanced and deeply enjoyable — a modern classic in the H. Upmann range.
