The Romeo y Julieta Tacos Edición Limitada 2018 revives the classic “Tacos Imperiales” vitola from the 1970s, offering a nostalgic nod to the brand’s storied past. Released at the 20th annual Festival del Habanos, this limited edition is presented in beautifully decorated boxes of 25 cigars. The Romeo y Julieta Taco represents the 9th occasion that the brand has been selected to be part of these prestigious and highly sought-after series of cigars. This extremely rare size offers over an hour of rich and well-rounded, medium-bodied smoking.
Founded in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Manin Garcia, Romeo y Julieta is one of Cuba’s most celebrated cigar brands, named after Shakespeare’s iconic lovers. The brand quickly earned a reputation for quality and innovation, becoming a favourite among European aristocracy and even Sir Winston Churchill, whose name graces one of the brand’s most famous vitolas. The Tacos Edición Limitada 2018 delivers a refined, evolving smoking experience.
- Pre-Light: Aromas of hay, earth, leather, vanilla, and nuts. Cold draw offers clay, espresso, almonds, and floral sweetness.
- First Third: Creamy cedar and salted almonds dominate, complemented by hay, sweet earth, coffee beans, and a touch of floral and white pepper on the retrohale. Caramel sweetness emerges on the finish.
- Mid-Smoke: Notes of cedar, dark chocolate, vanilla, pine, espresso, creamy cocoa, and raisins develop. The body remains smooth, with the draw and burn generally consistent.
- Final Third: Flavours intensify with caramel, white pepper, licorice, minerals, and a lingering earthy finish. The cigar moves from mild to medium strength as it progresses, with a long, satisfying finish.
