The Quai d'Orsay Senadores Edición Limitada 2019 marks the brand’s first-ever Limited Edition release, unveiled at the 2019 Habanos Festival. This cigar revives the classic "Hermosos No. 2" vitola, also known as a Gran Corona, and is presented in elegant, golden brown lacquered boxes of 25 cigars. Each cigar is crafted from carefully selected and extra-aged Cuban tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region, delivering a richer and more complex profile than regular production cigars In 2019 Quai D’Orsay was invited to create one of the three Limited Editions for the year. This is the first time that the brand has been asked to make a Limited Edition and further recognition of its new standing within the Habanos portfolio. The Senadores is a classic Hermoso No.2 size, measuring 6 1/8” (157mm) x 48 ring gauge and they are presented in Special Presentation Boxes (SPB’s) of 25 cigars.

Quai d'Orsay is a unique Cuban cigar brand, established in 1973 at the request of the French government to create a luxury cigar that would embody French refinement and prestige. The brand’s name is inspired by the iconic avenue along the Seine in Paris, home to both the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the headquarters of SEITA, France’s state tobacco monopoly. Initially intended exclusively for the French market, Quai d'Orsay cigars are renowned for their elegant presentation, lighter wrappers (Claro and Colorado Claro), and approachable, nuanced flavours. Over time, the brand has expanded internationally and is now appreciated by aficionados worldwide for its subtlety, sophistication, and connection to French luxury culture. 

QUAI D'ORSAY SENADORES EDICION LIMITADA 2019 TASTING NOTES

The Senadores Edición Limitada 2019 offers a refined, evolving, and balanced smoking experience. Pre-Light: Aromas of cedar, hay, and damp earth.

- First Third: Initial puffs deliver notes of wood, roasted beans, brown sugar sweetness, black pepper, and a touch of cinnamon. Hints of floral and aged cedar develop, with cocoa nibs and espresso beans adding depth.

- Mid-Smoke: The flavor profile shifts to toast and earth, with layers of cinnamon, leather, hay, peanuts, and anise. A distinct saltiness and graham cracker sweetness appear, complemented by white pepper on the retrohale.

- Final Third: Aromas and flavors intensify with dark chocolate, leather, toast, and a lingering earthy finish. The body becomes rounder, with a harmonious complexity and mild pepper that adds depth without overpowering the palate.
